Supposedly, I will be on my way to Sacramento, CA in only 6 days. I'm beginning to realize that the people of the AmeriCorps NCCC weren't kidding when they said that members must be flexible and "ready to go" at all times. I have yet to find out what time my plane leaves and from where....all I know is that the next 10 months of my life will be spent in a uniform, working hard with my team to help those in need.
I remember when I was accepted into the program. Months of waiting were ahead of me. At the time I couldn't wait for October 17th to be here. Now, I'm nervous and wondering what I have gotten myself into.
I've never actually kept a blog like this before. I hope those who read it will find it to be interesting, or at least entertaining. I have a feeling that the coming months will be exhausting for me. For those of you who know me you'll probably get a good laugh when you read my complaints about physical training, not being able to do my hair, and not being able to watch America's Next Top Model every Wednesday night. Jenna: if you were a true friend you would record the entire season for me!
